In Jobar, a district of Damascus, I photographed this wall riddled with bullet holes. In the center – a simple heart. I later combined it with countless Disneyland photographs. For me, this work is one of the most positive in the series: It shows that even in the ruins, one can find humanity and hope – if one only opens one's horizons wide enough.
